Creative Coding (6 - 8 year olds)
Did you know coding is on the curriculum from 5+?
MAMA.codes offers fun and creative after-school coding clubs and holiday workshops, that support the Computing curriculum. Our unique approach to teaching coding and computational thinking is the ideal launchpad for young children. We use storytelling and jokes to build fluency, plus plenty of “unplugged” physical coding games. See examples at www.mama.codes/gallery. We use tablet-based free coding app ScratchJr – so it’s helpful if children bring an iPad or Android tablet with them (kindly ensure that the tablet is fully charged and that the Scratchjr app is installed and functioning prior to class). Children learn generic coding concepts they can then transfer to any other coding language.
