Covid-19 and Illness Policy
The health and wellbeing of children is of paramount importance at The Children’s Wellness Centre. To maintain a clean and healthy environment we ask that you refrain from bringing your child to the Centre if they are presenting with a contagious infection. Services may also be cancelled or postponed if the Clinical Practitioner is unwell and if these have been paid in an advance a full refund will be provided.
The Children’s Wellness Centre has a strict 48-hour cancellation policy, and this also applies to situations of illness. Although we appreciate it is not always possible to give 48 hours’ notice, to ensure the longevity of The Children’s Wellness Centre remaining open, cancellation charges will still apply for last minute illness cancellations.
Although there are no longer any legal restrictions around Covid-19 isolations, in order to keep all those who work at, or visit The Children’s Wellness Centre safe, including the many vulnerable children that we support, we are please requesting that no child or young person attends classes, assessments or therapy sessions if they have tested positive for Covid-19.
For parents/carers bringing their child to the Centre, we also please request that no adult enter the Centre to drop off or collect their child if they have tested positive for Covid-19. The same rules apply for any adult attending courses or workshops, such as our Paediatric First Aid training.
Those who work at the Centre will also follow this policy, and services will be cancelled or postponed temporarily if a staff member tests positive for Covid-19.
If a child becomes unwell whilst attending a service at The Children’s Wellness Centre and their parent or carer is not on site, the parent / carer or emergency contact of the child or young person will be called. Whilst waiting to be collected, the Clinical Practitioner and/or Practice Manager will ensure comfort of the child, giving them opportunity to rest. Appropriate action will be taken, which would include seeking medical advice if necessary. Should the Clinical Practitioner and/or Practice Manager consider the illness to warrant immediate medical attention, the emergency services will be contacted.
It is the parent / carers responsibility to ensure their child’s Clinical Practitioner is kept up to date about their child’s health, including any changes to their medical history, including but not limited to physical needs, allergies and medication taken.
