Paediatric Medical Consultations
Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Our in-house Paediatrician, Dr Halbert, is a medical doctor, highly specialised in working with children and adolescents, and can provide an array of medical consultations, treatments, and prescription services for those aged 0-18 years.
Why might I see a private Paediatrician?
For general everyday ailments and common illnesses, we would recommend booking an appointment with your GP.
However, if you are needing a more specialised service, specifically related to babies, children, and adolescents, or have concerns that may stem beyond seeing a general practitioner doctor, visiting a paediatrician may be advised.
A paediatrician has specific additional training and qualifications in relation to under 18s, therefore for some conditions may be better treated by a specialised doctor.
Who is the Consultant?
Our Consultant Paediatrician is Dr Jay Halbert, MB BS, BSc, DTMH, MRCPCH.
Dr Halbert currently works in the NHS, at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, as well as running clinics privately. He is additionally the Clinical Lead for Child Mental Health at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and a committee member on the NICE Guideline for Self-harm. Dr Halbert completed his specialised training at Great Ormond Steet, University College London and Cambridge University Hospitals and has previously been the Clinical Lead at one of the largest paediatric oncology shared care centres in the UK at Barts Health. He provides expert consultations on all acute and chronic conditions affecting children from birth to 18 years covering a wide range of treatments.
